Sunshine coaches

Sunshine Coaches are the Variety Club's best known method for providing support and assistance to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the entire country. Set up 47 years ago the coaches have become a symbol for what can be achieved when children are given the opportunity to explore the wider world. Since 1962 over 4,900 Sunshine coaches have been put on the road.
Every coach is presented to an organisation which supports sick, disabled or disadvantaged children and encourages them to lead rich and fulfilling lives. They provide immeasurable benefits to the schools, clubs and community groups who receive them and regularly fully transform the programme of activities an organisation can offer their children.
Key to allowing sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people to reach their full potential is the rich variety of experiences which these coaches can bring them. The trips which they are able to participate in are the sorts of memories which last a lifetime. The coaches are an extremely popular way for individuals and corporate sponsors to also help give something back to their local communities. We, and the children who benefit from this, are indebted to those who take this responsibility seriously.

How to apply
Please use the link to download the Sunshine Coach guidelines and application form
You will be visited by one or two members of the Sunshine Coach Committee who will produce a report for the Committee. The Committee will then decide if the application is to be approved and you will receive a letter advising you of the decision – we work very hard with groups to ensure we are able to say yes as often as possible.
